This self-directed interactive program is designed to provide clinicians working with high-risk infant’s current evidence and strategies to support the development of feeding skills.

Infants are admitted to the neonatal unit for several reasons, for some infants their admission places them at risk for potential issues with developmental skills including feeding. In this education program we have defined high-risk infants as those who have congenital conditions or acquired conditions requiring surgery in the neonatal period. Components of the program are relevant to all infants admitted to the neonatal unit.

The program is based on current evidence and has been developed by a range of clinical experts including Speech Pathologists, Lactation Consultants, Nurses, and Neonatologists. All information is framed within an infant and family centred developmentally supportive approach.
